the hey ladies story
So here’s why we created hey ladies. We know the ladies, we are the ladies and boy can we communicate with the ladies. We are passionate about midlife women and why we’re not going to shut up and grow old quietly.
We have proven success in the midlife space, with years of experience writing for and editing magazines aimed at women of our age. We also wrote the book (literally) on how to navigate life at this age. We saw a market for a podcast aimed at women that couldn’t be bothered to be worthy, but who have a real passion for life and money to spend on it. So we made it.
We created the successful podcast Playing Devil's Avocado — which spoke directly to women over 45 — and a book, How Not to Live Your Best Life — which did the same. More of both of them elsewhere on this website.
We know thanks to research that the female economy is worth $28 trillion worldwide and the biggest slice of this market is women over the age of 50. We are those women. So we get it. And we can talk to them.
And who are we?

Claire Isaac knows midlife women better than anyone. She has produced magazines for “women of a certain age” for a professional lifetime. The former Lifestyle Director of the weekly titles at Are Media, she is all over the latest travel trends, the best beauty tips and the wellness TikTok thingos you need to know. Having curated content for midlifers for many years, and being midlife herself, she’s adept at knowing them inside out, as well as knowing how to navigate menopause, empty nesting and thinning hair while managing to take an outfit from boardroom to bar (that’s a joke, by the way, no one has ever been able to do that efficiently). She’s also a former Executive Editor of Woman’s Day and Editor of OK! – in short, she’s an experienced journalist and editor who has also worked on even more of the biggest titles in Australia, including New Woman and Cosmopolitan.
She has worked across digital platforms, too (so modern) where she has written and edited lifestyle and travel stories for various women's networks, like Now To Love, Escape, 9Honey, 10 daily, Mamamia, Who.com.au, WHIMN and more, and commercial content for many other websites and agencies. She has also written PR copy for numerous clients including DNSW and others. In short, she’s a journalist, editor and content producer with many years in the media and commercial content space, and the ability to pivot and create content for anyone.
She can plan, create and curate content for you, no matter how you want it delivered.
